Joseph Stiglitz To Ki Moon Tires Proposed To Be Advisor To The Aerospace

JAKARTA - Paramadina University economist Wijayanto Samirin recommends that several global figures be used as advisory boards for the Investment Management Agency (BPI) Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara).

Meanwhile, some of the proposed figures include Joseph Stiglitz, Jeffrey Sachs, Heno De Soto, to Ban Ki Moon.

"Other names, such as Joseph Stiglitz, Jeffrey Sachs, Heno De Soto, Ban Ki Moon, and others deserve to be considered as well," Wijayanto said, quoted by Antara in Jakarta, Tuesday, February 25.

Regarding Tony Blair's appointment as the Danantara supervisory board, according to him, the move was inappropriate, which Tony Blair was more precisely appointed as the advisory board.

"Ideally (Tony Blair) is on the advisory board, not the supervisory board, because the supervisory board has a tough task with legal consequences," said Wijayanto.

If he becomes a Advisory Board, according to him, Tony Blair can participate in boosting the image of the Danantara at the global level.

"If you enter the advisory board, Tony Blair can help boost the image of the Danantara world," said Wijayanto.

On this occasion, he conveyed that the appointment of a great world figure in the management structure of the Danantara could play a role in boosting images and helping build networks.

"They do not carry out real supervisory functions," said Wijayanto.

According to him, global figures have several advantages, including the firmness of implementing Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and the principles of Good Corporate Governance (GCG), and not being vulnerable to politicization.

"Involvement of exposure for the position of the Supervisory Board, Internal Audit, Directors of the Danantara/BUMN, Committees, Commissioners of SOEs, and others is okay, as long as they really bring the explicite we need," said Wijayanto.

Danantara Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rosan Roeslani confirmed that former British Prime Minister Tony Blair was one of the Danantara supervisory boards.

"Yes, one of them," said Rosan confirming the media crew's question after attending a limited meeting chaired by President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Monday (24/02).

For information, Danantara will involve global-scale advisors, who can come from other countries, such as the United States (US), Britain, China, India, and so on who have expertise in business, and/or have a political background.
