KAI Adds 538,280 Seats For The 2025 Eid Homecoming Period

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI added 1,080 trains (KA) to be operated during the 2025 Eid Transport period. With the additional train, it will increase the capacity of 538,280 seats.

The additional trains are available for long-distance trains and local trains with commercial classes, including the Java Priority Train which will provide a luxurious and comfortable travel experience. The train will operate with the Gambir-Yogyakarta PP relationship.

Vice President of Public Relations KAI, Anne Purba said that with the additional trains operating, the total capacity provided by KAI during the 1446H Eid Transport period was 4,568,838 seats.

In the 2025 Eid Transport, continued Anne, the number of trains operating was 9,572. This figure increased by 8 percent compared to the 2024 Eid Transport which operated 8,836 train trips.

"KAI understands that Eid is an important moment for Indonesians to gather with their families. Therefore, KAI increases the seating capacity to provide more travel options and accommodates high customer requests that will go home or vacation during Eid al-Fitr," he said in an official statement, Sunday, February 23.

Anne said KAI had opened an additional 1.080 train ticket bookings on February 23, 2025 at 00:00 WIB. To date, the ticket booking number for the 1446 H Eid transportation period has reached 1.122.5999 tickets.

"KAI has opened an additional train ticket booking for Eid starting Sunday, February 23, 2025 at 00.00 WIB. Public enthusiasm is very high to get homecoming tickets, this can be seen from the sales figure that has reached 1,122,559 tickets, with the highest train departure date being ordered on March 29, 2025 (D-2) which reached the order of 85,973 tickets," said Anne.

Anne said that long-distance train ticket bookings can be done starting from D-45 before departure. As for the local train, the booking starts from D-30, while some other trains can only be ordered D-7 before departure.

The ticket booking schedule for the Eid al-45 transportation period can be ordered starting at 00.00 WIB, namely February 24, 2025 for departures Thursday, April 10, 2025 (D+9) and February 25, 2025 for departure Friday, April 11, 2025 (D+10).

Anne said KAI is ready to serve customers wholeheartedly during the 1446 H Eid transportation period. Through additional train travel, and service improvement.
