The Design Of Legislative And Judicial Buildings Is Revised, Prabowo Asks The Ministry Of Public Works For Appeal Studies To Egypt-Turkey

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto asked the Ministry of Public Works (PU) to carry out comparative studies to three countries in order to study designs for Legislative and Judicative Buildings in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN). The three countries include Egypt, Turkey, and India.

Prabowo's directive was conveyed by the Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo. This is related to Prabowo's target to make IKN the Capital of Politics.

"The head of the design team is Mrs. Wamen (Diana Kusumastuti). The last meeting with Mr. Prabowo was asked for an comparative study. As far as I remember the three countries, yes, Egypt, Turkey, I forgot one more. India," said Dody when met after meeting with the ranks of the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII) at the PU Ministry office, Jakarta, Thursday, February 13.

Dody said the consideration for choosing the three countries was because the legislative and judicial offices there, according to Prabowo, had characters similar to those in Indonesia.

"From there, the team will reconstruct the picture and it will be submitted to Pak Prabowo again. However, the details are asked to the team leader," he said.

In addition, Dody assessed that the current work of Public Works at IKN itself is not too much. The role of the Ministry of Public Works itself is only to complete infrastructure development work that has not been completed, including toll roads.

"We may have to finish some (IKN access toll roads), yes (this year)," he concluded.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto targeted the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) to become the capital city of Indonesian politics in the second phase of development which is planned to be completed in 2028.

This was conveyed by the Head of the IKN Authority, Basuki Hadimuljono, after attending a limited meeting with President Prabowo and a number of ministers at the Presidential Palace, Tuesday, January 21.

"He targets IKN in 2028 to become the capital of politics. We are tasked with completing projects for legislative, judicial, and other supporting facilities," said Basuki.

The design of the construction of the legislative and judicial complex, previously designed by the Ministry of PUPR, will be reviewed according to President Prabowo's direction.

"We together with the Ministry of PUPR and OIKN will form a design team to adjust the direction of development in the future," he added.
