Prabowo Performs Budget Efficiency, KAI Ensures PSO Is Not Cut

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI ensures that the public service obligation (PSO) budget is not affected by the efficiency being run by the Prabowo Subianto government.

This includes the Lebaran 2025 homecoming budget.

For your information, referring to the 2025 RAPBN financial note, the PSO subsidy budgeted by the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) for KAI is IDR 4.79 trillion.

The budget is used for long-distance economic trains (KA), medium-distance economic trains, short-distance economic trains, Lebaran economic trains, economic KRD, Jabodetabek KRL, Yogyakarta KRL, and Jabodebek LRT.

KAI Vice President Public Relations Anne Purba said the PSO KAI budget in 2025 is still at IDR 4.79 trillion. The budget includes the procurement of PSO train tickets for Eid al-Fitr 2025 homecoming.

Anne also said that the route that got PSO was also determined by the government. The determination of the route was decided after a study was carried out.

"PSO is not cut at all. The route has also been determined after being studied and others, so that the route can be subsidized," he told the media at the Ministry of Transportation Office, Wednesday, February 12.

In addition, Anne said, PSO's economic train Lebaran homecoming ticket quota also has no reduction.

However, for the Lebaran 2025 homecoming period, Anne admitted that she could not specify the total train tickets prepared.

"There is no deduction (coota). Our tariff is a PSO subsidy plus ticket prices are charged to passengers," he said.

Regarding Lebaran 2025 tickets, Anne said the order had been opened since February 4, 2025.

This allows customers to plan their trips early.

Anne added that tickets can be purchased starting from D-45 before departure via the Access by KAI application, the booking.kai.id website, and various official Online Travel Agent (OTA) partners.

"Starting February 4, tickets for the H-45 trip before Lebaran can be booked at 00.00 WIB. Immediately plan your trip so you don't run out of tickets and get the best price," said Anne.

To meet the high demand during the 2025 Lebaran homecoming period, said Anne, KAI is also preparing additional train services to provide more travel options for the community.

"Currently, 2,877,473 places to sit are regular JJ train trips," he said.
