100 Days Of Prabowo-Gibran Administration, Pertamina Has A Big Contribution To Support Energy Self-Sufficiency

JAKARTA - Entering 100 working days of the Prabowo-Gibran Government, Pertamina is considered to have a big contribution. Especially in supporting the energy self-sufficiency program. This was conveyed by energy observer Hanifa Sutrisna.

Hanifa agrees that the performance of the energy SOEs from upstream to downstream strongly supports the efforts launched by the President. Among other things, the discovery of a number of new oil and gas wells. Not to mention, the potential for clean energy from plant-based fuel (BBN) such as biodiesel, bioavtur, bioethenol to Pertamina Digital Hub support.

"Yes, it is very supportive. And for me, self-sufficiency in energy is good," Hanifa told the media today, Monday, January 27.

According to Hanifa, the meaning of self-sufficiency in energy is that all Indonesian people must have the same opportunity for energy, so that no one has difficulty accessing it. With self-sufficiency in energy, he explained, it means that Indonesia is ready to meet its own energy needs. Especially, encouraging clean energy with new and renewable energy. That's why Hanifa hopes that the program can be realized.

That's why Hanifa also appreciated Pertamina's various efforts from upstream to downstream. Including the initiation carried out by the BUMN through biodiesel, bioavtur, bioethenol and other clean energy. All of that, added Hanifa, has a very big role in supporting the achievement of energy self-sufficiency.

"Whatever steps have been taken, it's very good, it's just a matter of how Pak Prabowo's astacita programs can be realized," said Hanifa.

Likewise, Hanifa reminded, that in achieving self-sufficiency in energy, Pertamina cannot run alone. But there must be good cooperation between institutions and offices in the province.

Separately, Datanesia Institute researcher Herry Gunawan also agrees that Pertamina plays a major role in supporting energy self-sufficiency. It's just that Herry reminded that to support this energy self-sufficiency, Pertamina requires large investments.

"Thus, if the investment has an impact on reducing profits, the government must also be willing," he said.

Regarding Pertamina's efforts by developing biofuel (BBN) for energy transition, for example, Herry considered it very positive. According to him, BBN will contribute greatly to energy self-sufficiency if its products sold in the market are able to meet price affordability aspects.

"That's why I agree that the government provides subsidies for this BBN. Because these products are environmentally friendly, so that it helps Indonesia realize its commitment in the international world in reducing carbon emissions," he concluded.
