Ahead Of 100 Working Days Of The Prabowo-Gibran Government, Erick Thohir Shows Off BUMN Contribution

JAKARTA - The Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka government will enter 100 working days of the Red and White Cabinet on January 28. SOE Minister Erick Thohir also revealed the contribution of the Ministry of SOEs.

Erick said the Ministry of SOEs was to accelerate various national priority programs launched by President Prabowo Subianto. Starting from downstreaming, infrastructure development, community services, food price stabilization, to human resource development and sustainable energy.

Furthermore, Erick said that cross-ministerial collaboration and this agency is a strategic momentum to answer increasingly complex development challenges.

"Within less than 100 days, we have shown real steps and direct impact felt by the community. This is proof that mutual cooperation is the key to success," he said in an official statement, written Tuesday, January 21.

Within 100 days, no less than 16 Ministries and six strategic agencies were involved by the Ministry of SOEs to support the mission summarized in the Asta Cita of the Prabowo-Gibran government.

To support downstreaming and strengthening domestic added value, the Ministry of SOEs is collaborating with the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM as well as the National Energy Downstream and Resilience Acceleration Task Force to accelerate the downstreaming of strategic commodities.

This step was taken as a form of collaboration between ministries and one of the strategic steps to accelerate the achievement of President Prabowo's ideals in terms of energy neglect and resilience.

In addition, this downstream also aims to increase added value in the country and encourage national independence through energy self-sufficiency. Downstreaming also plays an important role in increasing added value in the country and supporting the nation's independence, especially through energy self-sufficiency.

A number of state-owned companies also contribute to the process of disbursement through companies such as MIND ID for downstreaming mineral and coal, PTPN for downstreaming plantations, Perhutani for forestry, as well as Pertamina and PLN for national energy security.

Strengthening transportation and energy infrastructure has also become a sector that has been considered by the Ministry of SOEs in the last three months. Synergizing with the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure, the Minister of Transportation, and the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of SOEs continues to accelerate the development of transportation and energy infrastructure.

Erick said the same thing was done with the Ministry of Public Works which agreed to strengthen synergies in strategic infrastructure development which aims to support food, energy and downstream self-sufficiency programs that are government priorities.

Infrastructure also plays a vital role in realizing food and energy self-sufficiency and supporting downstreaming. With good infrastructure, logistics costs at ports, airports, toll roads, or roads in the regions can be reduced as much as possible," he said.

Synergy with the Ministry of Public Works, continued Erick, is focused on developing strategic areas, such as economic areas and production granaries. These areas must be supported by optimal infrastructure in order to support food and energy self-sufficiency, as well as sustainable downstreaming.

Meanwhile, related to community services, the Ministry of SOEs together with the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure, the Minister of Transportation, and the Minister of Tourism have ensured that transportation ticket prices, especially ahead of the 2024 Christmas Holidays and 2025 New Year, can be reached by the public.

"By directly intervening with state-owned companies engaged in the transportation sector, several breakthroughs can be carried out," he said.

In the food sector, Erick collaborated with the Head of the National Food Agency, the Coordinating Ministry for Food, and the Ministry of Agriculture to maintain food price stability, especially rice, amid the threat of global inflation.

Where based on data from the National Food Agency, by the end of 2024, the national rice stock reached 1.8 million tons, while Bulog had absorbed 1.2 million tons of farmers' rice by 2024. Food inflation was also maintained at a low level, only 1.68 percent (yoy) in December 2024, far below the average inflation of neighboring countries in ASEAN.

In addition, the Ministry of SOEs through Bulog and RNI also supports the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program by involving the Head of the National Nutrition Agency. So far, the MBG program has reached more than 1 million children and vulnerable groups in 10 priority provinces.

This program also utilizes local MSME products and creates more than 50,000 new jobs in the food sector. Efforts to improve the people's economy encourage the Ministry of SOEs to synchronize MSME programs and the creative industry with the Ministry of MSMEs.

It was recorded that as of January 2025, more than 1.2 million MSMEs had obtained access to financing from state-owned banks, with total lending reaching IDR 13.5 trillion.

"This coaching program also includes business assistance, digitization of MSMEs, as well as promotion of MSME products to global markets through e-commerce platforms such as PaDi UMKM," he said.

In addition, the development of human resources is also a priority sector. In collaboration with the Minister of Women and Children Empowerment (PPA), the Ministry of SOEs has adopted policies to ensure gender equality in the work environment.

Currently, 25 percent of the managerial positions in SOEs have been filled by women, with the target of increasing to 30 percent by 2025. In addition, the child protection program has been implemented through the provision of child-friendly facilities within SOEs.
