JAKARTA BUMN Mining Industry Holding Indonesia MIND ID is committed to continuing to explore aggressively and sustainably to ensure long-term business continuity.

MIND ID Corporate Secretary Heri Yusuf said this was done to obtain data on potential resources and reserves as a whole before carrying out mining activities.

Exploration is the most upstream process in the mining industry which is very crucial. We are trying to keep this reserve growing and ready to be monetized to ensure the sustainability of Indonesia's mineral downstream program," he said, Thursday, January 16.

The exploration program that has been running in 2024 is run by PT Aneka Tambang Tbk to manage critical and strategic mineral commodity resources and reserves in several areas such as Tayan West Kalimantan for bauxite commodities, Pongkor West Java for gold commodities.

"Meanwhile, nickel commodities in several areas such as North Konawe, Pomalaa in Southeast Sulawesi, Tanjung Buli in North Maluku, and Gag Island in Southwest Papua," continued Heri.

He continued, PT Bukit Asam Tbk also carries out exploration with a focus area in Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra, which has the largest coal reserves in Indonesia. In 2024, exploration activities have been carried out in the form of mapping and monitoring of geology, drilling, and analysis of samples.

The production of copper and gold from PT Freeport Indonesia is in accordance with the planning to have a mining life of up to 2041, but based on the estimated number of available resources and reserves, it is currently able to produce more than 2041 if it gets an extension of the production operation permit from the Government of the Republic of Indonesia.

PT Vale Indonesia Tbk also consistently carries out exploration activities and plans to intensify exploration in the Tamalalia Block, part of a company mining concession in Sorowako, South Sulawesi.

Furthermore, PT Timah Tbk, as a member of the MIND ID Group, has also shown its commitment to explore in the form of drilling activities in the sea around Bangka Island and Kundur Island. Meanwhile, PT Timah Tbk also carries out land exploration activities which include primary & alumcial tin deposits, as well as mining guidance drilling in the context of production optimization on Bangka Island and Belitung Island.
