JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Yuliot Tanjung said that the joining of Indonesia as a member of BRICS could have an impact on the expansion of the mining product export market.
He ensured that his party together with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources were studying the impact of Indonesia's entry as members of BRICS, one of which was in terms of mining.
"We are studying this impact again. With us entering the BRICS, it is in the context of using the market for the export market," Yuliot told the media crew at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, Wednesday, January 8.
Yuliot said other countries such as China and India with large populations were considered to have a positive impact on the mining sector such as minerals and coal.
"They have a large population, the market potential is quite large," he added.
According to Yuliot, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has also thought in detail about the impact Indonesia will feel when joining as members of BRICS.
