Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto reported that various cheap spending programs at the end of 2024 had recorded transactions of IDR 71.5 trillion.

This value is an accumulation of the total transactions of the National Online Shopping Day Program (Harbolnas), the Expenditure Program in Indonesia Aja (BINA), and the 2024 Every Purchase is Cheat (EPIC) Program.

A number of these programs are also dominated by domestic MSME products.

"We certainly support various initiatives that contribute to national economic growth and are able to provide sustainable benefits for the entire community," said Airlangga as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, January 2.

The Harbolnas program, which was held on December 10-16, 2024, scored a total transaction of IDR 31.2 trillion and showed an increase of up to 21.4 percent (yoy) compared to the total transactions in 2023 which amounted to IDR 25.7 trillion.

In this program, local products are also able to show dominance over overall sales with a portion of 52 percent and a transaction value of IDR 16.1 trillion, an increase of around 31 percent (YoY) from 2023.

By using the #UpiProdukSendiri tagline, the Harbolnas program is dominated by three categories of products with the highest interest, namely sportswear and fashion accessories, personal care products, and food and drinks.

Significant growth in the contribution of local products is a positive indicator of Harbolnas' future potential initiated by the association of commercial-el industry (e-commerce) players.

It also reflects the increased consumer awareness of continuing to support domestic products through e-commerce platforms.

Meanwhile, the 2024 Indonesia Aja (BINA) Shopping Program which was held by prioritizing local products on December 20-29, 2024, managed to record a transaction value of IDR 25.4 trillion.

The transaction value has increased by 15 percent compared to the transaction value in 2023 which reached IDR 20 trillion, and exceeded the target of 10 percent.

The 2024 BINA Discount Program is a form of solid cooperation between the government, retail entrepreneur associations, MSME players, and various other related parties. A total of 80,000 outlets in 396 shopping centers from 24 provinces, both local and global brands, are actively successful in the program.

Then, Airlangga said that the success of the Harbolnas and BINA Program was followed by the achievement of the EPIC Sale 2024 Program on December 22-31, 2024, which managed to record a transaction value of IDR 14.9 trillion from around 45,000 outlets in Indonesia that participated in the program.

The EPIC Sale 2024 program is a forum for collaboration between the Government, the private sector, and MSME players, so that people get basic cheap local products with superior quality.

Of course, we hope that these programs will continue in the future with a wider scope of programs and new, more attractive innovations. In addition to being proof of good synergy between the Government and business actors, this program is also a tangible manifestation of the Government's presence in supporting the competitiveness of domestic products, especially MSME products, and maintaining people's purchasing power," concluded Airlangga.
