Bank Indonesia Prepares IDR 152.14 Trillion During Ramadan And Eid Al-Fitr 2021

JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) stated that it has prepared IDR 152.14 trillion of money to anticipate the needs during Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr 2021.

Head of BI's Money Management Department Marlison Hakim said the number increased by 39.33 percent compared to the same period last year.

"The amount of realization of withdrawal in 2020 amounted to IDR 109.2 trillion", he said in a webinar on Payment System Readiness in Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, Wednesday, April 14.

Marlison added that the growth occurred due to the potential increase in demand from the community in the new normal era as it is today.

Meanwhile, the most money withdrawals this year were conducted by cash task force (satker) in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) with a total of IDR 39.99 trillion. While the lowest occurred in the task force in West Papua amounted to IDR 320 billion.

As for large areas in Indonesia, the spread of money is still dominated by Java island with the amount of IDR 59.4 trillion.

Then followed by Sumatra IDR 25.9 trillion, Kalimantan IDR 10.3 trillion, Bali and Nusa Tenggara IDR 5.5 trillion, and the rest in various regions throughout the country.

For information, the realization of the use of money by BI occurred most in the period 2019 with a value of IDR 192 trillion. Then, successive 2018 worth IDR 191.3 trillion, 2017 worth IDR 163.2 trillion, and 2016 amounted to IDR 146.1 trillion.
