Garuda Indonesia And Citilink Prepare 1.4 Million Seats In The Nataru Holiday Period

JAKARTA - Garuda Indonesia group provides 1.4 million passenger seats to anticipate high travel requests during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year (Nataru) holidays.

President Director of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, Military Commander Tsani Panjaitan said that during the Nataru holiday period this year, the number of airplane passengers is predicted to increase by 24 percent compared to the previous year.

The 2024 Christmas and New Year 2025 holiday periods set by Garuda Indonesia group are December 19 to January 3, 2025.

"So a total of approximately 1.4 million seats with a total flight of almost 8,200 flights during the peak season," he said at a press conference at the BUMN Ministry Office, Jakarta, Friday, December 6.

The details are Garuda Indonesia has prepared. As many as 741,514 seats with 4,028 flights and Citilink as many as 717,560 seats with 4,171 flights.

The military explained that Garuda Indonesia also proposed additional flights or extra flights as many as 316 flights and 210 flights for Citilink in the Nataru period.

"So we put a total of 526 flights (flights). So there are additional flights on leading routes," he explained.

Furthermore, the Military Commander said that the superior domestic routes of Garuda Indonesia airlines during the Nataru holiday period consisted of Denpasar, Sorong, Manado, Medan, Jayapura, Pontianak, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, and Lombok.

Meanwhile, international routes consist of Singapore, Haneda, Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Sydney.

Meanwhile, the leading routes at Citilink airline during the Nataru holiday period include Medan, Lombok, Denpasar, Balikpapan, Yogyakarta, Batam, Jakarta, and Malang.

The Military Commander said to anticipate an increase in passengers, in addition to increasing flight frequency and number of seats, state-owned airlines also ensure the readiness of their fleets.

Where Garuda Indonesia prepared 58 fleets, consisting of 39 Boeing 737-800NG aircraft, 12 Airbus 330 Series aircraft, and 7 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Meanwhile, Citilink has prepared 35 fleets covering 32 A320 CEO/NEO aircraft and 3 ATR 72-600 aircraft.

"We also confirm that the readiness of the cabin crew and cockpit crew for Garuda Indonesia and Citilink, which are currently very sufficient. Then the fleet, we also prepare a standby aircraft other than planes that operate regularly," he said.
