The Indonesian Employers' Association (Apindo) is again holding the Indonesia Privacy and Security Summit (IPSS) 2024 with the theme Navigation in Personal Data Protection: Implementation of the Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP) and Cyber Security in Indonesia.
IPSS 2024 brings together government leaders to digital industry players exchange ideas and recommendations for best practices from the business world, in facing digital future challenges, especially related to personal data protection.
This event also welcomes the Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP) which was officially enforced in October this year.
Apindo General Chair, Shinta W Kamdani revealed, Apindo is committed to becoming a bridge of collaboration to bridge the Government's needs with the aspirations and interests of business actors in implementing the PDP Law.
He emphasized the importance of implementing the PDP Law as a strategic step in building trust in the digital economy.
The PDP Law not only protects individual privacy, but also encourages transparency and accountability in data management. The 2024 IPSS event is also a momentum to strengthen synergies and set a direction towards a safe, inclusive, and sustainable digital ecosystem," explained Shinta.

"We directly submit two recommendations for the draft instrument to the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia as a reference for policy makers," he said.
Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) Nezar Patria said Indonesia had made major steps in the digital era with the PDP Law.
The PDP Law is expected to be able to provide stronger certainty and protection for the business climate and society, in terms of personal data management.
