JAKARTA - Indonesian airline AirAsia supports the government's policy of lowering domestic flight ticket prices during the period of Christmas and New Year (Nataru) 2024/2025 on December 19, 2024 to January 3, 2025.

"Indonesia AirAsia fully supports the government's direction to create more affordable air transportation, especially at important moments such as the Christmas and New Year holidays. With the steps we have implemented, we are optimistic that we can help people access more affordable flight services as well as contribute to increasing mobility and growth in the domestic tourism sector," said Indonesia AirAsia President Director Veranita Yosephine in Jakarta, Sunday.

He added that this step is in line with the direction of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto who aims to help the community in reducing the burden of travel costs while at the same time supporting the recovery of the tourism sector and the creative economy in Indonesia.

This step is expected to be able to reduce air travel costs, in line with government projections targeting a decrease in aircraft ticket prices by around 10 percent. The reduction includes a number of ticket cost components such as fuel surcharge, Aircraft Passenger Services (PJP2U), landing services, and other supporting components.

Indonesia AirAsia, he said, is also committed to ensuring the implementation of this aircraft ticket price reduction policy without reducing service quality by focusing on safety and flight comfort.

In addition to encouraging the affordability of ticket prices, his party also welcomes intensive coordination with stakeholders in ensuring the smooth implementation of this policy. He believes that solid collaboration between stakeholders will strengthen the positive impact of this policy on the community and the aviation industry.

His party will also prioritize safety and security standards on every flight, this is proven officially as an operator that has completed an operational safety audit conducted by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), or known as the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA).
