Starting December 4, Pelni Ship Moves To Batam's 99 Star Terminal

The Pelni ship will begin to move clothing from Batu Ampar Terminal to Bintang Sembilan Persada Terminal on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, confirmed by the Batam Entrepreneurship Agency (BP).

This follows the results of the KM Kelud sandar test which was successfully carried out on Wednesday, November 26, 2024 at the Sembilan-Sembilan Persada Star Terminal pier.

"The transfer of Pelni's mooring from Batu Ampar Terminal to Bintang Sembilan Persada Terminal has been prepared since 2021, starting with the construction of a decent waiting room for Pelni passengers as well as deepening the flow and pool of the pier so that it is safe to be escorted from passenger ships belonging to PT Pelni," said Director of the Port Business Entity Dendi Gustinandar as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, November 30.

Dendi said this transfer was part of a strategic effort to improve the quality of sea transportation services in the Batam area.

The Director of the Port Business Entity also appreciated the steps taken by PT Bintang Sembilan-Sembilan Persada as the manager of Bintang Sembilan-Sembilan Persada Port which has prepared infrastructure to accommodate the flow of Pelni passengers to Belawan and Jakarta.

"The success of transferring the Pelni Ship mooring to Bintang Sembilan Persada Terminal is proof of the commitment of the Head of BP Batam Muhammad Rudi to provide better service for people who use Pelni Ship transportation," he said.

He appreciated the cross-agency synergy that had jointly escorted the transfer of moorings to the Sembilan-Sembilan Persada Star Terminal to ensure the comfort of passengers and shipping safety.

Pelni Batam Branch Head Muhammad Iqbal said that the transfer of the Pelni ship to Bintang 99 Persada Terminal on Wednesday is a form of joint effort from all stakeholders to provide better and maximum service to the community.

This transfer was carried out ahead of the long Christmas and New Year's (Nataru) 2024/2025 holidays.

This step is the result of cross-agency synergy. We are always committed to providing the best service. For Pelni passengers who previously experienced discomfort, we hope that after moving to Bintang 99 Persada Terminal, the services provided can be more optimal," said Iqbal.
