JAKARTA - PT Djarum and PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk. held a cooperation in the form of shipping djarum factory area in Kudus, Central Java using recycled plastic mixture materials.

Senior Manager corporate affairs of PT Djarum Purwono Nugroho said this effort is a real manifestation in unraveling indonesia's plastic waste problem.

"This is one example that we can all collaborate to help tackle recycled waste for sustainable living," he said in a written statement Thursday, April 8.

According to Purwono, plastic waste has a high economic value if it can be managed properly. To that end, he hopes that all parties can take a role to realize a clean environment while getting economic benefits.

"We are proud of the success of PT Djarum and Chandra Asri in shipping by utilizing this plastic waste," he said.

On the same occasion, Vice President of Corporate Relations Chandra Asri Edi Rivai said the partnership built is a proof of a shared commitment in maintaining environmental sustainability.

"In the future we hope that more parties will be involved to be able to cope with garbage," he said.

For information, Chandra Asri conducted a shipment of 39,000 square meters in a production facility owned by PT Djarum using a mixture of 7.1 million pieces of plastic waste.

Plastic waste used is a type of plastic bag made of HDPE (High Density Polyethylene). This plastic asphalt program is one of the government programs through the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) that has been carried out since the last few years.
