JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has started the rehabilitation of the Cibaliung Irrigation Region (DI) in order to increase agricultural productivity in Pandeglang Regency, Banten.

On October 18, 2024, the Ministry of Public Works has started rehabilitation work in Cibaliung in Cikeusik District covering an area of 4,303 hectares (ha) consisting of Cibaliung Kiri covering an area of 1,810 ha with a discharge of 2.73 m3/second and Cibaliung Kanan covering an area of 2,493 ha with a discharge of 3,76 m3/second.

The rehabilitation work in Cibaliung is under the responsibility of the Cidanau Ciujung Cidurian River Basin Center (BBWS), the Directorate General of Water Resources of the Ministry of Public Works with the implementing contractor Hansol - Waskita, Joint Venture.

The cost of work comes from loans worth IDR 233.8 billion with a work period of 730 calendar days and is targeted for completion in October 2026.

It is hoped that the rehabilitation program in Cibaliung will have an impact on increasing agricultural productivity in Pandeglang Regency with the Plant Index increasing from 113 percent to 190 percent.
