Visit Bulog Warehouse, Zulhas Ensures Rice Stock Reaches 2 Million By The End Of The Year

Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs (Menko Pangan) Zulkifli Hasan ensured that the rice stock controlled by Perum Bulog could reach 2 million tons by the end of this year.

The stock is to maintain supply and price stability.

This was conveyed by Zulkifli Hasan after visiting the Bulog Jakarta Warehouse, Sunter, North Jakarta, Monday, November 4.

Zulhas, as he is familiarly called, said that Bulog's rice stock in Jakarta's warehouse currently reaches 140,000 tons.

While the rest are scattered in other Bulog warehouses throughout Indonesia.

"We can at least 2 million by the end of this year. Where are the goods? There are only 140,000 tons here and only one place, while Bulog has more than 1,500 and 1,508 now with a capacity of 4 million," he said.

Therefore, Zulhas reminded the public not to worry about rice stocks. He said the stock was safe until the end of 2024.

Moreover, he continued, next year the government will have a new rice field printing program. This program is believed to be able to increase rice stocks for the country.

"So our rice stock is very safe and sufficient because of that, the public, traders, people don't have to worry, yes, rice is enough. Especially next year with a new rice field program, the intensification and others have gone well," he said.

Meanwhile, the President Director of Perum Bulog Wahyu Suparyono said that the rice stock controlled by Perum Bulog currently reaches 1.6 million tons.

Wahyu said the stock was safe enough to meet national needs until the end of this year.

By the end of the year (it was confirmed that the rice stock) was 2 million tons. But currently not completely 2 million tons. Currently, it is still 1.6 million tons, very much more than enough until the end of this year," said Wahyu.
