Erick Thohir Appoints Iwan Bule As President Commissioner Of Pertamina

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir officially appointed Mochamad Iriawan alias Iwan Bule as President Commissioner of PT Pertamina (Persero) as of today.

This appointment was decided through the Pertamina General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS).

The decisions of the GMS are contained in SK-258/MBU/11/2024 and SK-259/MBU/11/2024 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of Members of the Board of Commissioners and Directors of the Company (Persero) PT Pertamina.

Iwan Bule was appointed to replace Simon Aloysius Mantiri, who in the GMS was appointed as President Director of Pertamina. In addition, Dony Oskaria was also appointed as Deputy President Commissioner, and Raden Adjeng Sondaryani as Independent Commissioner.

Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Fadjar Djoko Santoso explained that the appointment and dismissal of BUMN directors and commissioners including Pertamina is the authority of the Government as a shareholder represented by the Minister of SOEs.

"The change of company leadership is a normal and reasonable process as the existing provisions," said Fadjar in an official statement, Monday, November 4.

Iwan Bule Profile

Mochamad Iriawan or who is more familiarly called Iwan Bule is a retired high-ranking officer of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) who last served as the Main Secretary of the National Resilience Institution (Lemhanas).

Iwan Bule's career in the National Police is relatively brilliant. He served as West Java Police Chief, NTB Police Chief, Metro Jaya Police Chief and Porli Professional and Security Division.

This man who was born in 1962 was also the Acting Governor of West Java (Jabar) on June 16, 2018, although his appointment was controversial because he was still an active police officer.

After retiring from the National Police, Iwan Bule served as Chairman of PSSI for the period 2019 to 2023. In the same year, Iwan Bule decided to join the Gerindra Party chaired by President Prabowo Subianto.

Iwan is also noted to have run for Legislative Candidate (Caleg) of the DPR RI West Java electoral district X but he failed to get a seat to walk to Senayan.
