JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore South East Sumatra (PHE OSES) officially supplies natural gas to Gas and Steam Power Plants (PLTGU) in Cilegon, Banten, to support national energy security.
General Manager of PHE OSES Antonius Dwi Arinto in his statement in Jakarta, Saturday, November 2, conveyed the importance of collaboration between sectors in creating national energy security.
"This collaboration is a tangible manifestation of our commitment to support national energy needs, through solid cooperation between PHE OSES, SKK Migas, and PLN," said Antonius, quoted from Antara.
Located at PLN Indonesia Power UBP Cilegon, the opening of the first gas flow valve or openvalve first gas marks the start of synergy to support the availability of reliable gas supply to meet national energy needs.
As of Friday (1/11), PHE OSES provided gas of 5 Billion British Thermal Units per Day (BBUTD), with a total volume of 9,977 BBTUs until 2029. The gas supplied will be used for electricity needs in the Cilegon-Banten region, West Java, and its surroundings.
PLTGU Cilegon is the only gas-powered generator in the Banten region, which plays a vital role as one of the interconnections of the Java-Bali transmission network. Electricity from the Cilegon PLTGU is intended to supply industrial electricity needs in Banten.
Furthermore, Antonius said that with synergy across government agencies, domestic energy potential can be optimized to support community welfare and industrial sustainability.
"We hope that this synergy can be an example of how the spirit of togetherness can have a big impact to support the availability of reliable, efficient, and sustainable energy," he said.
At the opening ceremony, representatives of SKK Migas, Vice President Primary Energy Planning & Control II PLN IP, and representatives of other OSES PHE management were also present.
