JAKARTA - PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) recorded a consolidated realization of Bank Mandiri's credit reaching 20.8 percent year on year (yoy) to Rp1,590 trillion.

Bank Mandiri President Director Darmawan Junaidi said that this growth was supported by credit from the wholesale segment, which is the core business of Bank Mandiri.

"This achievement is followed by maintained and improving asset quality, reflected in the bank-only ratio of non-performing loans or Bank Mandiri's NPL ratio of 0.97 percent or a decrease of 39 basis points (bps) on an annual basis," he explained at a press conference, Wednesday, October 30.

As for the end of September 2024, Bank Mandiri posted credit growth in all segments. Meanwhile, the largest growth is still supported by corporate segment loans which recorded an annual growth of 29.4 percent to IDR 581 trillion at the end of the third quarter of 2024.

Darmawan said that Bank Mandiri's credit growth was also driven by the micro-productive segment and SME, which grew by 13.04 percent and 13.7 percent respectively at the end of September 2024.

"Bank Mandiri consistently strengthens its role as a change agent by channeling credit to the real sector to support the economy of the Indonesian people and the economy," he said.

Darmawan said that his party also emphasized its commitment to the people's economy through the distribution of People's Business Credit (KUR), which until September 2024 had reached IDR 32.2 trillion and reached more than 293 thousand MSME actors.

As for the distribution of KUR, Darmawan said Bank Mandiri also strengthens the production sector and builds business synergies with wholesale customers to encourage wider collaboration.

In the future, Darmawan said that his party will continue to focus on credit growth in strategic sectors in a sustainable manner such as Agriculture & Plantation, Telecommunications, Energy, Food and Beverage Industry and labor-intensive sectors in various regions.

"Through a credit distribution strategy that prioritizes the populist economic sector, we are optimistic that the credit growth target according to guidance in the range of 16 percent-18 percent YoY can be achieved by the end of 2024," he added.
