Dody Hanggodo Will Be Assisted By Six Director Generals Carry Out Tasks At The Ministry Of Public Works

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo revealed that the ministry's new structure will be led for the next five years or the 2024-2029 period.

The formation of the new structure is in response to President Prabowo Subianto's decision to decompose the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) into the Ministry of Public Works with the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP).

"Based on Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 139/2024 concerning the Arrangement of Tasks and Functions of the Ministry of State of the Red and White Cabinet for the period 2024-2029, one of the points is the establishment of the Ministry of Public Works," said Dody in a working meeting (Raker) with Commission V at the DPR RI Building, Jakarta, Tuesday, October 29.

In his presentation, Dody said, the Ministry of Public Works will still have six Directorate Generals (Ditjen) like the previous structure of the Ministry of PUPR.

However, there was one Directorate General who was changed, namely the original Directorate General of Housing to the Directorate General of Strategic Infrastructure.

The details of the Directorate General of the Ministry of Public Works, namely the Directorate General of Water Resources, the Directorate General of Highways, the Directorate General of Human Settlements, the Directorate General of Strategic Infrastructure, the Directorate General of Construction and the Directorate General of Public Works Infrastructure Financing.

All of these Directorate Generals will be directly supervised by the Minister and Inspectorate General as well as the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Public Works.

In addition, Dody also said that he would be assisted by the Regional Infrastructure Development Agency and the Human Resources Development Agency (HR) while carrying out his duties.

"The plan for the structure of the Ministry of Public Works in 2025-2029 will be assisted by the Deputy Minister, Secretary General, Inspector General, Director General of Natural Resources, Highways, Cipta Karya, Construction Development, Financing and Public Works Infrastructure, Director General of Strategic Infrastructure and Regional Infrastructure Development Agency and Human Resource Development Agency as well as several expert staff," he added.

Not much information was conveyed by Dody in his inaugural working meeting.

The explanation is just a focus on establishing a new structure of the Ministry of Public Works for the Red and White Cabinet for the period 2024'2029.

Previously, the 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto officially appointed Dody Hanggodo as Minister of Public Works. Dody's appointment was announced at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Sunday, October 20, 2024.

"Ir. Doddy Hanggodo, MPE, Minister of Public Works (PU)," said Prabowo.
