JAKARTA - PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) announced that the Tiga Dihaji Dam, which is located in Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) South Sumatra, will be completed soon.

Currently, the progress of the construction of the Tiga Dihaji Dam project in the OKU area is focusing on working on the emergency release low level outlet structure and rapid pipeline work.

"What is targeted to be completed by the end of 2024," explained WIKA on its official Instagram account @ptwijayakarya, quoted on Saturday, October 26.

Later, the Tiga Dihaji Dam will provide many benefits, such as supplying irrigation water covering an area of 34,824 hectares (ha), providing raw water needs of 1,000 liters per second, 4times10 MW hydropower plants (PLTA), reducing flood risk and becoming a new tourist destination.

"Continuing the development of this project, yes, pal! (Proyek) The Tiga Dihaji Dam is almost complete," he added.

As for increasing water storage that can support food security, the Ministry of Public Works (PU) will continue the construction of 17 dams in a number of areas in the country next year.

In detail, Rukoh Dam in Aceh, Tiga Dihaji Dam in South Sumatra, Bulango Ulo Dam in Gorontalo and Riam Kiwa Dam in South Kalimantan.

Next, the Budong-Budong Dam in West Sulawesi, Jenelata Dam in South Sulawesi, Pelosika Dam in Southeast Sulawesi, and Way Apu Dam in Maluku.

Then, there are the Mbay and Manikin Dams in East Nusa Tenggara, the Bagong Dam in East Java, and the Cabean Dam in Central Java.

Furthermore, there is the Karangnongko, Bener, and Jragung Dams in Central Java. Then, there is the Cibeet and Cijurey Dams in West Java.
