Prima Energy Drills Drilling Wells In Camar Field

JAKARTA - The Cooperation Contract Contract Contractor (KKKS) of PT Prima Energi Bawean (PEB) has started drilling well taxing for two development wells, namely Camar West (CW-1) & CW-2 located in Camar Field, Bawean Working Area, Off the coast of East Java.

As an operator that manages 100 percent of the Camar Field in the Bawean Working Area (WK), PEB has obtained a PSC Cost Recovery contract through an effective Direct Offer Tender Oil and Gas mechanism since December 15, 2022, committed to continuing to increase production in the Camar Field.

Prima Energy CEO Pieters Utomo said, after successfully carrying out the Central Processing Platform (CPP) reactivation activity in February 2024, where to increase production and fulfill a definite Work commitment in the form of drilling one development well, PEB will drill two CW-1 and CW-2 development wells, and carry out Monopod Platform A (MPA) reactivation activities as well as pipeline deployments from the MPA to CPP.

"This step is part of PEB's commitment to increasing national oil production," he said, Thursday, October 24.

The drilling starts on October 23, 2024 and will last for 65 days. The drilling location is at water depth about 64 meters below sea level. The CW - 1 well will be drilled towards the west with a total depth of 1,986 meters or equivalent to 6,516 feet, while for CW - 2 wells it will be drilled north with a total depth of 1,547 meters.

The main target of this drilling is the formation of Masalembo Sand, with the second target in the Kujung II Lower Limestone formation.

In its operation, PEB uses Jack Up Rig ENSCO 106. To increase time and cost efficiency, both wells will be drilled by batch, because the drilling activities of the two wells use well slots adjacent to one caisson in the MPA.

"By reactivation the MPA platform that activates old wells such as CM-6, as well as drilling development wells CW-1 and CW-2, it is hoped that the estimated production volume from the Camar Field can reach 2,200 BOPD, with an additional reserve of 1.6 MMstb," Pieters continued.

He continued, PEB's strategy by carrying out drilling and rework activities wells will increase the production period at WK Bawean so that it is hoped that it can extend the life of the field and expand the portfolio so that it can continue exploration activities in the Tuban area.

Pieters also stressed that PEB will continue to strive to increase the production of the Camar Field.
