100 Days Of Work Plan, Roro Reveals Will Increase Domestic And Foreign Trade

Deputy Minister of Trade (Wamendag) Dyah Roro Esti said he would communicate first with the Minister of Trade Budi Santoso to formulate his future strategy to be able to carry out the mandate given by President Prabowo.

"Of course for the next 100 days we will carry out what is the policy of the Minister, Mr. Budi Santoso, both for domestic, foreign trade, and how can we increase the UMK," he said after the Handover of Positions (Sertijab) which took place at the Ministry of Trade, Tuesday, October 22.

Roro said he would have a joint meeting with the Minister of Trade first, to find out what tasks will be carried out in the future so that there is synergy and collaboration that arises.

"Well, he conveyed that during the handover of the position yesterday. The first thing I have to do is have a meeting with the Minister so that we can explain later what I have to do and what he does so that the synergy and collaboration can appear properly," he said.

Roro explained that Indonesia has the potential to become one of the largest economies in the world, supported by various sectors that can contribute to economic growth. Given the demographic bonus, it is important to increase productivity so that this potential can be realized.

"There are two components of trade, some are domestic, some are abroad. Domestic of course, how yesterday the President also said that our commodities, whether food, industry, must be competitive with the global economy," he said.

Meanwhile, Roro said that when it comes to foreign cooperation, he would continue various bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and several countries, which had previously been carried out by the Deputy Minister of Trade (Wamendag) for the 2019-2024 period Jerry Sambuaga.

"The second is related to foreign cooperation, Mr. Jerry Sambuaga, who is a former Deputy Minister of Trade, has also carried out various kinds of bilateral cooperation. Through the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement or CEPA, which is running, which has been running in several countries and also are still pending in several countries," he said.

According to him, he will be able to complete the bilateral cooperation because he was once the Chair of Bilateral between Indonesia and Peru.

"Incidentally, yesterday I also led as bilateral chairman between Indonesia and Peru, one of which we discussed was also about CEPA. So, hopefully, if for example later it is identified, there are several countries that we must accelerate, we will do it," he concluded.
