JAKARTA - The 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, officially appointed Dody Hanggodo as Minister of Public Works. Dody's appointment was announced on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta.

"Ir. Doddy Hanggodo, MPE, Minister of Public Works (PU)," said Prabowo.

For information, the Ministry of Public Works is a fraction of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) which was previously led by Basuki Hadimuljono.

Dody is known to be an entrepreneur who served as commissioner of PT Pradiksi Gunatama Tbk from 2017 to 2018. Dody also serves as a commissioner at PT Senabangun Anekapertiwi, which is a Palm Oil Plantation company.

PT Pradiksi Gunatama Tbk is a company most of whose shares are owned by Araya Agro Lestari. Araya Agro Lestari is a business entity owned by Haji Isam's son.

Dody is also the father of Gerindra politician, Aushar Fajr Herdiansyah who is also a candidate for Deputy Regent of Nganjuk.

In carrying out his duties as Minister of Public Works, Dody will be accompanied by Diana Kusumastuti as Deputy Minister.

For information, in accordance with Presidential Regulation Number 27 of 2020 concerning the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing has the task of organizing government affairs in the field of public work and public housing to assist the President in organizing state government.

In carrying out the tasks as referred to above, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing implements policy functions in the field of water resource management, road management, implementation of drinking water supply systems, domestic waste water management, environmental drainage management, and waste management, building arrangement, residential area development, development of strategic infrastructure, housing administration, implementation of public work infrastructure financing and housing, as well as construction services development.
