Profile Of AHY Who Was Lined Up As Coordinating Minister For Infrastructure And Regional Development

President Prabowo Subianto officially inaugurated Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) to become Coordinating Minister for Regional Infrastructure and Development in the Red and White Cabinet.

Previously, the former Minister of ATR/BPN wanted to immediately work and shop for problems in the field. According to Prabowo's direction, he said, ministers in the Red and White cabinet must work together.

"Hopefully soon after this inauguration I can immediately go to the field, of course study the tasks first, because this is the new coordinating ministry in the field of infrastructure and regional development. And of course we will soon find out what are the problems and challenges," explained AHY.

Regarding his new position in the Red and White cabinet, AHY will oversee 5 ministries. First, the Ministry of ATR/BPN which is now led by Nusron Wahid.

Second, the Ministry of Public Works led by Dody Hanggodo. Third, the Ministry of Public Housing led by Maruarar Sirait.

Fourth, the Ministry of Transmigration led by Democratic cadres, Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanegara. Fifth, the Ministry of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi.

To note before serving as Coordinating Minister for Regional Infrastructure and Development, AHY served as Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) during the administration of President Joko Widodo who was inaugurated on February 21, 2024.

Meanwhile, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono is the first son of the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) with Kristina Herrawati or who is more familiarly called Ani Yudhoyono. AHY was born in Bandung on August 10, 1978 and currently serves as Chairman of the Democratic Party since 2020 replacing his father, former president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

For information, AHY studied at Taruna Nusantara High School, Magelang in 1994 and continued his education from the Military Academy (Akmil) in 1997.

After graduating from AKMIL, AHY attended the Principal School of Infantry Branching and Intel Combat Course in 2001 and later joined the Army Strategic Reserve Command (Kostrad).

Furthermore, in 2002, AHY was an officer of Brigif Linud 17 Kostrad, as Commander of the Congregation in the 305/Tengkorak Air Force Battalion assigned to the Security Recovery Operation in Aceh which was full of risks. In Aceh, AHY was elected Commander of the Special Team (Dan Timsus).

Along with the increasing field experience, AHY got promoted as Company Commander (Danki) at Infantry Battalion Linud 305/Tengkorak in 2007.

Then in the same year, AHY took the Scuba Divers TNI-AL course in the Thousand Islands, 2008. In the same year, AHY was asked for his contribution by Prof. Dr. Juwono Sudarsono as Minister of Defense, to join the Indonesian Defense University founding team.

AHY then continued his military education at the US Army Maneuver Captain Career Course in Fort Benning, United States in 2011.

Furthermore, in 2015, AHY returned to education in the US, and then won the title of Summa Cum Laude from the US Army Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

Until early 2016, AHY was assigned as Commander of the 203 Arya Kamuning Mechanical Infantry Battalion, one of the elite security forces in the National Capital.

On August 10, 2017, AHY founded The Yudhoyono Institute and sits as Executive Director.

At the same time, AHY also formed the AHY Foundation which focuses on social and humanitarian issues, especially health, education, and the environment as well as disaster response responses.
