PURWAKARTA - The Association of Indonesian Ceramic Industries (Asaki) welcomes the issuance of Minister of Industry Regulation (Permenperin) Number 36 of 2024 concerning the Implementation of SNI for Mandatory Ceramic Webin.

Chairman of Asaki Edy Suyanto said the issuance of the regulation would protect the domestic ceramic industry from the onslaught of imported products.

Edy added that the issuance of this regulation will also provide protection to customer satisfaction related to domestic ceramic quality.

"Of course we have maintained it well so far. However, the presence of this mandatory SNI is not only for local products but also for imported products, so this will provide quality equality," he said.

"So far, we have doubts about the quality of imported products. With the presence of this SNI, we are sure that domestic ceramic users will get certainty related to the suitability of quality. Well, this is one of the things we are grateful for," he continued.

In addition, said Edy, the issued regulation will provide optimism for the national ceramic industry in supporting the 3 million homes program in the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka era.
