Asaki: The Issuance Of Permenperin 36/2024 Protects Domestic Ceramic Industry From Onslaught Of Imports

PURWAKARTA - The Association of Indonesian Ceramic Industries (Asaki) welcomes the issuance of Minister of Industry Regulation (Permenperin) Number 36 of 2024 concerning the Implementation of SNI for Mandatory Ceramic Webin.

Chairman of Asaki Edy Suyanto said the issuance of the regulation would protect the domestic ceramic industry from the onslaught of imported products.

"We are very grateful to the government for maintaining and increasing competitiveness, especially the ceramic industry, yes, and for the onslaught of imported products. We believe this can increase the competitiveness of the domestic ceramic industry," said Edy when met by reporters at the Indonesia Manufacturing Center (IMC) Purwakarta Building, West Java, Monday, October 14.

Edy added that the issuance of this regulation will also provide protection to customer satisfaction related to domestic ceramic quality.

"Of course we have maintained it well so far. However, the presence of this mandatory SNI is not only for local products but also for imported products, so this will provide quality equality," he said.

"So far, we have doubts about the quality of imported products. With the presence of this SNI, we are sure that domestic ceramic users will get certainty related to the suitability of quality. Well, this is one of the things we are grateful for," he continued.

In addition, said Edy, the issued regulation will provide optimism for the national ceramic industry in supporting the 3 million homes program in the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka era.

"The Minister of Industry Number 36 of 2024 concerning SNI Must increasingly provide optimism for the national ceramic industry to welcome and support the new policy of the Prabowo-Gibran Government regarding the construction of 3 million people's houses per year," he added.

For your information, the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has issued 16 Regulations of the Minister of Industry (Permenperin) regarding the Implementation of Industrial Standardization in a Mandatory manner. Aims to regulate regularity assessments, including audits and appropriate and correct testing.

The 16 Permenperins include Permenperin Number 12 of 2024 concerning the Implementation of SNI for Mandatory Isolation Glass, Permenperin Number 13 of 2024 concerning the Implementation of SNI for Calcium Karbida Mandatoryly to Permenperin Number 36 concerning the Implementation of SNI for Ceramic Weiring Mandatoryly.
