JAKARTA - The Cirebon-Semarang (Cisem) transmission gas pipeline phase 2 of the Batang - Cirebon - Kandang Haur section has officially begun to be built.
The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) through the Director of Infrastructure Planning and Development, Laode Sulaeman, said he was optimistic that this project would be completed in 18 months.

Laode explained that the strategy carried out to accelerate the construction of this gas pipeline is to involve 24 sub-teams that will work on the gas pipeline in parallel along 245 km.
"We are not working on the 245 km segment starting from here, we will continue, but we divide it into 4 main sections and involve 24 sub teams. So along 245 km there are 24 sub teams. The goal will be completed on time, so the work is parallel, that's the strategy," explained Laode.
He explained that the construction of the Cisem II Pipe is a strategic step for the government to connect the transmission pipeline transmission network from East Java to Sumatra, with the one already installed, namely the Gresik-Semarang (Gresem) network, connected to Cisem which is connected to the South Sumatra network to West Java (SSWJ), and in the future a Dumai - Sei Mangkei (Dusem) natural gas pipeline will also be built in Sumatra.
Laode further said that this gas pipeline will not only flow gas from Jambaran Tiung Biru (JTB) Field but also the Muria Working Area (WK), Pertamina EP WK, Cepu WK, Tuban WK, Kangean WK.
