KKP Gives Fish Milk Signals It Is Likely To Enter Prabowo's Free Nutrition Eating Program

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) revealed the latest developments regarding fish milk for a free nutritious food program (MBG) during the next administration of President-elect Prabowo Subianto.

The Director General of Strengthening the Competitiveness of Marine and Fishery Products (PDSPKP) KKP Budi Sulistyo said the National Food Agency (Bapanas) and the National Nutrition Agency had seen fish milk as a source of nutritious drinks.

Thus, both parties proposed that fish milk be included in the MBG program.

"If it's from the Food Agency, you already know. From the Food Agency, right, present. So, they have a nutritious source of drinks from fish milk, they already know and enter into the MBG program," Budi said when met by reporters at the KKP office, Jakarta, Friday, October 4th.

When asked whether Bapanas and the National Nutrition Agency had given a signal that fish milk was included in the MBG program, Budi confirmed.

"Yes, Bapanas and the Nutrition Agency are trying to propose it," he said.

Previously, fish milk became a hot topic of conversation among the public on social media because it was proposed to be included in the MBG program.

The idea was highlighted after the discourse emerged regarding the replacement of imported cow's milk.

The CEO of PT Gives Indonesian Technology, Yogi Aribawa Krisna, said that his party was still waiting for an answer from the government regarding the certainty of this matter.

However, he stressed, his party had introduced fish dairy products to related parties in the MBG program.

"If the relationship with the government is clear, we have also heard about the concept of protein autonomy. Now, I am waiting for this portion. I am assisted by the ministry, there is a KKP. That is to bridge the gap, it is possible, it will be for a free nutritious food program," he said, Wednesday, September 18.
