JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) revealed that there are already five domestic entrepreneurs who are interested in building a fish protein hydrolicity or HPI factory.
Fish milk is one of the products of HPI technology.
This was conveyed by the Director General of Strengthening Competitiveness for Marine and Fishery Products (PDSPKP) KKP Budi Sulistyo when met by reporters at the KKP office, Jakarta, Friday, October 4.
"Yesterday's interest was five entrepreneurs from within the country. He wants to build a factory or two factories (HPI)," he said.
Budi said the five entrepreneurs had expressed their interest in the KKP and were asking about the standards to technology from the HPI factory.
"Business actors have started to be interested, many have come to us to build it, what are the conditions, then what are the standards. Our job is to provide the standards," he said.
When asked further the names of entrepreneurs, Budi could not provide further information.
According to him, currently the five entrepreneurs are talking about internal matters first, such as funding issues or others.
"So, they came to express an interest, ask. Then, they will talk about internal first, about funding issues," he added.
Based on VOI records, the KKP is in the process of building a HPI factory in Pekalongan, Central Java.
Director of Processing and Development Mutu of the Directorate General of PDSPKP KKP Widya Totalto said, for the HPI factory itself, it was only in Indramayu, but the factory was not a pilot factory from the KKP.
"For the current HPI factory, PT. Gives Indramayu. However, the KKP will soon build a HPI unit in Pekalongan. Hopefully in late November it will be able to trial and make HPI products," said Widya when met at the HPI Factory, Indramayu, West Java, Wednesday, September 18.
