JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI has adjusted the Jabodebek LRT travel schedule starting today. This has an impact on reducing travel and train waiting time (headway) to 11 minutes.

Public Relations Manager Mahendro Trang Bawono said this adjustment aims to increase the effectiveness of operating patterns, while still supporting the user's needs during rush hours as well as to maximize treatment.

Through this adjustment, continued Mahendro, the number of Jabodebek LRT trips was 348 trips on weekdays, while on weekends there were still 260 trips per day.

With the decrease in the number of these trips, the train headway becomes 11 minutes from the previous 10 minutes.

"This adjustment is part of our efforts to optimize operating patterns, so that Jabodebek LRT operations can run more efficiently while still providing comfort for all users," said Mahendro in an official statement, Wednesday, September 25.

Despite adjustments, continued Mahendro, the schedule is still prioritized to support users during peak hours with more efficient and timely operating patterns.

The volume of Jabodebek LRT users on weekdays in September 2024 was recorded at an average of 79,247 users per day.

The most crowded time occurred at 06.00 a.m. in the morning and at 16.00 p.m. in the afternoon.

Mahendro said that this adjustment was made based on the results of an evaluation which showed that the current number of trips was sufficient to accommodate user needs, especially during peak hours.

"KAI also takes advantage of this adjustment to maintain operational reliability, both the facilities and infrastructure of the Jabodebek LRT," he said.

KAI would like to thank all users for their trust and support for the Jabodebek LRT service. Currently, the Jabodebek LRT operation has been operating until 22.49 for Dukuh Atas-Jatimulya, and at 22.55 for Dukuh Atas-Harjamukti.

We will continue to strive to provide optimal, safe, and timely services for all users. This adjustment is our step in maintaining a balance between operational effectiveness and service quality," he said.
