Jokowi Groundbreaking IKN Project Phase 8th, Total Investment Reaches IDR 1,075 Trillion

JAKARTA - The groundbreaking activity for the 8th phase of investment in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan, has been carried out today. The groundbreaking, which was led directly by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) today, was attended by three foreign investors.

Of the three foreign investors, only one will invest through a direct investment scheme. Meanwhile, two other foreign investors will invest in IKN through a cooperation scheme to build partners with local companies.

It is known that foreign investors who will inject direct funding at IKN are Delonix, a company from China. Later, Delonix will build a mix-used area including the construction of malls, hotels and apartments.

Meanwhile, two other foreign investors will partner with local Indonesian entrepreneurs. The two investors are Australia Independent School (AIS) andtengas Estate, which is a property company from Russia.

In addition to groundbreaking foreign investment projects, President Jokowi also groundbreaking a number of projects from domestic investors. Starting from D'primahotel Nusantara to Teras Forest IKN by Plataran.

The total investment flowing to IKN in the 8th phase of the groundbreaking reached Rp1,075 trillion. In detail, an investment of Rp300 billion will be disbursed byULAH Estate. Then, the investment value of Delonix is Rp500 billion.

Next, the Australian Independent School injected funds amounting to Rp150 billion. So that a total of Rp950 billion of foreign funds entered Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the local investment in the IKN groundbreaking today is IDR 125 billion, with details of D'prima's investment value reaching IDR 100 billion and IKN Forest Terrace by Plataran of IDR 25 billion.

Thus, the total investment entering today, Wednesday, September 25, 2024, for the 8th groundbreaking at IKN reached IDR 1,075 trillion.

President Jokowi said he was happy with the entry of three foreign investors with a total investment value of Rp950 billion in IKN development.

"Yes, this is the most important investor, foreign investment has entered the capital city of Nusantara. This morning from Australia for education, then Russia for property and also China for property," said Jokowi after laying the first stone or groundbreaking Delonix Nusantara at IKN, Wednesday, September 25.

According to Jokowi, the entry of foreign investment has shown the trust of investors, both domestically and internationally. "This shows that the archipelago is indeed a very attractive place for investment," he said.
