The Potential For Fish Milk To Enter The MBG Program Has Not Been Discussed By The Prabowo Transition Team, This Is The KKP's Response

JAKARTA - In an effort to socialize the high nutritional content in fish milk, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) continues to introduce the hydrolicity potential of fish protein (HPI) to parties involved in the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program of the President-elect Prabowo Subianto.

So, has KP Minister Sakti Wahyu Trenggono met with the Prabowo Subianto transition team?

The Director General of Strengthening the Competitiveness of Marine and Fishery Products (PDSPKP) KKP Budi Sulistyo also spoke about this.

"I don't know if that's the case," Budi said in response to VOI's question when met at the KKP office, Jakarta, Tuesday, September 24.

Budi explained that the extract of fish proteins itself can be produced in the country since 2017. Then, at that time the main goal of this was to fulfill the independence of national proteins.

"Well, from the fish there is something fresh and processed. Then the fish protein hydrolysat (HPI) extracts fish protein. (In 2021 another downstream product has appeared, its derivative is fish milk. Texture and everything is similar to taste," he said.

Then, said Budi, Minister of KP Sakti Wahyu Trenggono together with the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs (Menkop UKM) Teten Masduki launched the fish milk product.

"Well, then it was introduced (to the public) and we also cooperated between institutions. Internally also filled each other there. Well, then it was introduced by friends, fish milk appeared," said Budi.

"But the point is how our protein is getting stronger and we take advantage of the products produced or given by the motherland," he continued.

When asked further if there was a signal that fish milk would be included in the MBG program next year, Budi did not answer clearly.

"Yesterday, the Head of the Nutrition Agency responded positively," he added.
