JAKARTA - PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) is committed to supporting the government in increasing national energy independence and resilience. As well as realizing clean energy in this case through an induction or electric stove.

This commitment is marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding between PLN, 9 BUMN works, the Ministry of BUMN and the Ministry of PUPR in order to realize national energy independence and resilience in order to realize clean energy through the movement to use induction stoves, today, March 31.

The nine BUMN Karya in question are PT PLN (Persero) and nine Construction SOEs namely PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk, PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk, PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk, PT Hutama Karya (Persero) Tbk, PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero), PT Pembangunan Perumahan (Persero), PT Amarta Karya (Persero), PT Nindya Karya (Persero), and Perum Perumnas, as well as 1 BUMN Banking, namely PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk.

Zulkifli said that currently the Indonesian people are in a state of imported energy consumption, which implies an increase in gas imports, which are valued at approximately Rp. 60 trillion with LPG subsidies reaching Rp. 50 trillion per year. Whereas on the other hand, the current national electricity reserves have reached 50 percent.

"This means that domestic energy can be optimized to be utilized by all Indonesian people. This condition is a good momentum for Indonesia to encourage increased national energy security through absorption of 50 percent of electrical energy reserves, by inviting all people to switch to using induction stoves or electric stoves," he said. , in a virtual memorandum of understanding signing ceremony, Wednesday, March 31.

Zulkifli said, by diverting the gas stove to the electric stove, the people indirectly helped the state save Rp. 50 trillion which had been spent on LPG subsidies.

"In our saving, the state will indirectly save (budget) on LPG subsidies. Then, in our opinion, the movement to use induction stoves indirectly overcomes the problem of LPG subsidies, which is very difficult to hit the target," he explained.

Zulkifli said that his party had signed three memoranda of understanding. First, an agreement with 9 state-owned companies in the construction service sector to work together to achieve energy independence and resilience as well as to create clean energy.

"Second, PLN reaffirms cooperation with Bank BTN in order to support the movement of 1 million induction stoves and the use of banking services," he said.

Third, continued Zulkifli, PLN has also reached a work agreement with the housing finance fund management center of the Ministry of PUPR regarding data integration of electricity users who receive housing financing liquidity facilities.

"By achieving these agreements, encouraging the use of housing, apartment units that are being or will be built will make it easier for partners to implement the LPG stove conversion program to induction stoves," he explained.

In the future, said Zulkifli, PLN is committed to ensuring the availability of electricity with reliable service and of the best quality.

"Hopefully this will be our step to form a government to realize independence and national energy security and to realize the use of clean energy and the first step to collaborating," he said.
