Myaku-Myaku Official Maskot World Expo 2025 Osaka Appears First In Jakarta

JAKARTA - Myaku-Myaku, Osaka's official mascot World Expo 2025, made his debut in Indonesia at the Jak-Japan Matsuri 2024 event which took place at Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, on September 14 and 15, 2024.

Myaku-Myaku's appearance is part of a global promotion to welcome the World Expo 2025, which will be held in Osaka from April 13 to October 13, 2025. Apart from Myaku-Myaku, Indonesia's official mascot for the 2025 World Expo Osaka, Tumtum, was also introduced to the public in the hope of strengthening cultural collaboration between Japan and Indonesia.

"We are very happy to be able to welcome Myaku-Myaku in Jakarta as part of the preparation of the 2025 World Expo Osaka on this occasion, we also begin to introduce Tumtum, our official mascot to the public," said Dr. Vivi Yulawati, M.Sc., Deputy for Maritime Affairs and Natural Resources at the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, in his statement, Thursday 19 September.

In the meet-and-greet session at the Jak-Japan Matsuri event, visitors were very enthusiastic to meet Myaku-Myaku and participate in various interactive activities held at the 2025 Osaka World Expo booth. This event also presents information about the potential for Indonesia's participation in Osaka next year, including Indonesia's contribution to displaying sustainable innovation.

Myaku-Myaku's presence in Jakarta is an important step in in introducing World Expo to the people of Indonesia. This is also an opportunity for us to show that Indonesia is ready to contribute to the 2025 World Expo Osaka, both in terms of culture and sustainable technological innovation," he said again.

With less than 200 days to open Expo, this global promotion is expected to increase public awareness and enthusiasm for one of the biggest international events.
