Jokowi Will Groundbreaking For The First Foreign Investment Project At IKN This Week

JAKARTA - Acting (Plt) Head of the Archipelago Capital Authority (OIKN) Basuki Hadimuljono revealed that the groundbreaking activity in the State Capital (IKN) Nusantara will be held this week by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

Basuki said that the investment groundbreaking activity would be carried out after President Jokowi closed the Aceh XXI PON on September 20, 2024.

"Later, the initial schedule after the closing of the PON, the president, will go there (IKN). Later, when it comes there (IKN) there will be a groundbreaking," said Basuki at the DPR RI Building, Jakarta, quoted Thursday, September 19.

In addition to groundbreaking IKN, Basuki said that the Head of State is also scheduled to inaugurate a number of facilities and infrastructure in IKN that have been completed.

He also gave a little leak that the groundbreaking would be followed by foreign investors. However, Basuki still has not provided definite details regarding the first wave of foreign investment to the IKN.

"Yes, among them (there are foreigners)," he said.

Previously, Acting Deputy Chief of OIKN Raja Juli Antoni said, there were two foreign investors who would conduct groundbreaking, namely from China and Australia. For the scope of its own sector, some are engaged in property and education.

"There are two foreign investors who will groundbreaking. First, Delonix, this is a company from China that will build malls, hotels and apartments," said Raja Juli when met by reporters at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, September 9.

Raja Juli said Delonix would build a mix-used area in IKN. It is projected that the total investment disbursed will reach Rp500 billion.

Meanwhile, other investors from the Australian Independent School will build schools at IKN. The investment value to be disbursed reaches IDR 150 billion.

Thus, the accumulated number of foreign investments that will enter this September to IKN will reach IDR 650 billion.
