Support Prabowo's Program, Ministry Of Agriculture Will Provide 1.5 Million Hectares Of Land For Imported Dairy Cows

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Agriculture will provide an area of 1.5 million hectares to support the demand for milk in the Free Prabowo-Gibran Nutrition Food program.

The land will be used as a place to care for cows.

Meanwhile, Indonesia will import 1.3 million dairy cows. The cow is to meet the needs of fresh milk for the Prabowo-Gibran Free Nutrition Food program.

"There is production land. There is oil palm, there is community land, there are islands in the east. We will identify it from our pocket. 1.5 million is potential," said Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono when met at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Thursday, September 12.

Sudaryono said his party had also offered to several domestic companies to build dairy farms to meet the needs of fresh milk.

"We offer around 36 companies that have committed input (imports) to Indonesia," he said.

Sudaryono said entrepreneurs who import as investors are to build livestock. Meanwhile, he said, the government helps with land needs and also all the need for import permits.

"We will find the land for them. We have secured 1.5 million hectares. (The land) we offer them to raise their cows. The rest, the Ministry of Agriculture will help in terms of licensing," he explained.

Furthermore, Sudaryono said, the land prepared by the government was not in one place or area.

But it is spread in several areas, such as Central Sulawesi, Banten, Blora, East Java, to the outer islands.

The 1.5 million hectares (land) is not one stretch. There are 10,000 hectares, 20,000 hectares, 13,000 hectares, 3,000 hectares and only 2,000 hectares," he said.

Previously, the Ministry of Agriculture opened the opportunity for anyone willing to import live cows into Indonesia.

The goal is to suppress milk imports.
