Regarding Fuel Restrictions, Bahlil: Don't Speculate First

JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia revealed that the subsidized fuel restriction (BBM) regulations will not be implemented within the next 1 to 2 weeks.

The reason is, the regulation is still in the discussion stage. For this reason, Bahlil asked that there be no speculation about its implementation before the official decision was made by the government.

"I think that within 1-2 weeks there has been no (subsidized fuel restriction). Yes, that's it. So don't speculate anything yet. So the rules are still being discussed," Bahlil told the media crew at the Parliament Building, Thursday, September 12.

Bahlil emphasized that the subsidized fuel restriction rules are still in the discussion stage and no regulations have been issued from these fuel restrictions.

"So, to deal with subsidized fuel, we are still under discussion of the rules. So there is no such rule and no regulation has been implemented. Let it be clear, it is still under discussion," Bahlil added.

Furthermore, Bahlil said, in the regulation, the distribution of subsidized fuel will be given right on target to the entitled parties.

He also ensured that the criteria for receiving subsidies would be announced at the right time and asked the public to wait for an official announcement from the government

"We will announce everything later. What is clear is that this fuel is given to those who are entitled to receive subsidies, right on target," he said.
