Sun Life Indonesia And Bank Muamalat Launch Prosperous Salam Hijrah Insurance

JAKARTA - PT Sun Life Financial Indonesia (Sun Life Indonesia) partnered with PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia, Tbk (Bank Muamalat) launched the Asuransi Salam Hijrah Sejahtera product, which was specifically designed to answer the needs of Bank Muamalat customers in long-term planning and protection solutions, with flexibility and return of contributions at the end of the protection period so that it was the right choice, especially for those registered in the Regular Hajj program.

With the age and length of the Hajj waiting period, health risks are the main challenges that can occur at any time and need to be anticipated by prospective pilgrims. Even when performing the pilgrimage, pilgrims are faced with various health challenges, such as extreme climate, severe physical activity, and crowds of millions of pilgrims who increase health risks.

Data from the Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia shows that about 25 percent of pilgrims experience hot health problems, such as heat stroke, especially among the elderly and those with weak health conditions. Exposure to temperatures of more than 40 degrees Celsius, severe physical activity, and the risk of infection in the midst of large crowds exacerbated these challenges. The benefits of Asuransi Salam Hijrah Sejahtera include optimal protection in various situations. If a customer dies during the protection period, the heir will receive 100 percent insurance compensation plus cash value (if any). This benefit increases to 200 percent if the customer dies in the holy month or while carrying out the pilgrimage.

In addition, this product provides additional benefits in the form of compensation for death of Rp. 10,000,000 to the heirs. At the end of the contract period, if there are no claims, customers will receive the benefits of grants calculated based on Bonus Factors multiplied by Annual Contributions.
