Minister Of Agriculture Amran Invites Youth To Build Sleeping Land To Maintain National Food Security

JAKARTA - Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Andi Amran Sulaiman invites Indonesian youth to build sleeping land or optimize swampland, which is currently being carried out by the government, in order to strengthen national food security.

"I invite young people to build sleeping land in various regions as assets towards Indonesia gold," Amran said in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Sunday, September 8.

He wants youth to contribute to strengthening national food security. Youth has enormous strength in dissecting various national problems.

In addition to high enthusiasm, he continued, youth are also the superior and most resilient generation in converting the Indonesian agricultural sector to a better direction.

"And remember, my message for young people is to have an honest character, discipline, hard work and not depend on other people's hopes. Remember, our big dream going forward is to realize self-sufficiency and also Indonesia's world food barn," he said.

The Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) is developing swampland optimization with advanced digitalization technology equipment, especially in accelerating and reducing production costs by 50 percent.

"The important thing is that when the youth has gone down, we must support and not be disturbed by the mafias that roam in this republic. For youth who want to move in the agricultural sector, we are currently building a modern agricultural cluster and can survive a minimum profit of IDR 10 to IDR 20 million per person," he said.

Amran hopes that the youth can implement the spirit of struggle that the fighters have built first. One of the most important things is to ignite love for the nation through the agricultural sector.

"In the future, you will lead the world, if you want to successfully get rid of your sweat and think about the future of this nation in the future. You need to know, agricultural exports reach Rp500 trillion and can increase if we do downstreaming," he said.
