A Decade Of Jokowi's Leadership, Sumatra Connected To The 850 Km Toll Road

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) noted that the total length of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) which is currently operating and functionalized reaches 850 kilometers (km).

Spokesperson for the Ministry of PUPR Endra S. Atmawidjaja revealed that the equal distribution of connectivity in the western region of Indonesia was successfully built during the 10 years of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi)'s leadership.

"Our Sumatra Trans can start, (the construction for 10 years) has reached around 850 km of the toll road which is now functional," Endra said in a Webinar Starting 10 Years of online Infrastructure Development, quoted Tuesday, September 3.

Endra said, the long portfolio of JTTS will continue to grow.

In 2024, there will be toll roads in the Aceh to North Sumatra which will be inaugurated.

In addition, the government's commitment to building connectivity infrastructure for the past 1 decade is also expected to encourage competitiveness and facilitate community mobility.

"The same end of the year in Aceh, North Sumatra which will soon be inaugurated," he added.

As for the period of June 30, 2024, PT Hutama Karya (Persero) as the holder of the Sumatra Toll Road concession reported that JTTS, which has been operating 800 km from the total JTTS stage 1 length target of 966 km.
