Awaited By Entrepreneurs, Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Reveals The Progress Of Coal MIP Formation

JAKARTA - Director of Coal entrepreneur Development at the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Surya Herjuna, revealed that the progress of the coal company's levy levies through the new coal management agency (MIP) partners is still being awaited by entrepreneurs.

Surya said that MIP is actually the government's solution to the Domestic Market Obligation (DMO) problem related to the price disparities imposed on DMOs at prices in the market.

"So last year we wanted to launch this MIP, but there are several things that need to be resolved, especially for technical matters," he said in the Mining Zone quoted Monday, September 2.

He added that currently the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is also waiting for the Presidential Decree regarding the MIP to be finalized and handled by the head of state.

Surya also said that while waiting for the issuance of the Presidential Decree, his party was also actively completing several technical instructions that would be contained in the Ministerial Decree (Kepmen), Ministerial Regulation (Permen) and applications.

"So when it comes to this year, it's better to finish quickly, because there is a transition period, yes, the transition period to the Minister of Regulation is complete, around 3-4 months, so if the Permen will be present in September, we are optimistic that actually next year we can launch it for the e-DKP," he said.

Previously, the Chairperson of the Indonesia Mining and Energy Forum, Singgih Widagdo, asked the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia to immediately complete the MIP that entrepreneurs had been waiting for.

"Bahlil lives for two months if he concentrates on oil, we will not be able to carry out the process so that MIP must be the main task," he said.

"While previously the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources for the 2019-2024 period Arifin Tasrif said that currently the progress of the formation of the Coal MIP is just waiting for President Joko Widodo (Jokowi)'s approval and is inaugurated through a Presidential Regulation (Perpres)," said Arifin, quoted on Tuesday, August 20.
