The Ministry Of PUPR Guarantees That IKN Is Ready To Welcome Jokowi To The Move Of ASN Next September

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) guarantees the readiness of basic infrastructure in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan, to support President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) plan to work until the transfer of ASN in September.

Head of the IKN Infrastructure Development Task Force of the Ministry of PUPR Danis H. Sumadilaga said that basic infrastructure such as ASN apartments, the Office of the Coordinating Ministry to the Garuda Palace is ready to function. Likewise with supporting infrastructure such as electricity, water and internet.

This is evidenced by the implementation of the inaugural Plenary Cabinet Session which was held in early August and the commemoration of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in the archipelago. At that time, IKN had functioned well and was able to accommodate thousands of guests.

"So actually if he has an office, yes, that's in the context that he works as president, head of government. That, right, has an office at the Garuda Palace. Right, the cabinet meeting is already in the context of the head of state as well. Last time 500 mayors, regents and so on were invited for a work meeting. So I think it's ready," said Danis at the PUPR Ministry office, Jakarta, Friday night, August 30.

Danis said that currently the progress of the offices of the Coordinating Ministry has been completed in the range of 80 percent and is ready to be occupied. A number of ministries have visited IKN in recent times in the context of office surveys.

"The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Muhadjir Effendy) has come to a meeting there. Then from every ministry now they have arrived, they have surveyed. For example, yesterday the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture was at the Coordinating Ministry 4. The Coordinating Ministry for 4 has seen the building as if it wanted to be a sharing office," said Danis.

Meanwhile, ASN housing has been completed and is ready to be occupied by 12 towers, out of a total of 47 towers currently under construction. Danis said that in the September-October period, around 21 towers could be completed and in November, 47 towers would be completed.

"Green building with air flow is good enough. Then, if in me, for example, the simplest key is digital. I forgot how many codes, then the electricity settings are already using tablets. It can be connected to cellphones," he explained.

As for the supporting facilities themselves, Danis assessed that this apartment is also quite complete. Currently, minimarkets, cafes and coin laundry are available there. Even soon the clinic will attend. Later, other facilities such as PAUD and the gym will follow.

"Under the apartment, there are functional spaces, for example, when August 17th there was a clinic first. So, the puskesmas opened a clinic. Then there was a cafe, then the laundry coin. But later, right, there will be several buildings, it could be a PAUD for children, then it could also be a place for sports, gyms and so on," said Danis.

With the current facilities, Danis said that IKN is ready to be occupied by ASN. If you look at the number of apartment units or ASN flats that are ready, there are at least 2,100 rooms that can be occupied.

"The number is 1,700 if I'm not mistaken, the initial stage. If the number of ministries is 36, right, the average is between 50 and not 100 (ASN). Then the tower, right, already exists. Now with the 12 towers there are 700. Right, there are 60 towers, meaning (a total of) 720 units. If there are 3 rooms, 3 times that's 2,100," he added.

The Archipelago Capital Authority (OIKN) revealed that the possibility of the first wave of ASN moving to Nusantara, East Kalimantan, will begin in September 2024.

The Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan-RB) stated that the gradual transfer of ASN to IKN from this year to 2029 through three priorities.

The government prioritizes ASN who control digital literacy to be transferred to IKN.
