JAKARTA - PT Wijaya Karya Bangunan Gedung Tbk (WEGE) has pocketed a new contract of Rp1.21 trillion until July 2024. This figure is up 31 percent on an annual basis or year on year (yoy) compared to the same period the previous year, which was Rp922.1 billion.

These new contracts are dominated by projects from the government sector, which contribute 76.44 percent of the total acquisition.

Some of the strategic projects achieved by WEGE include the construction of the BMKG InaTEWS Building worth Rp. 168.5 billion, the PT Bio Farma Substation Building and Electricity Network development project worth Rp. 55.4 billion and the Ministry of Health's Oncology Center Building (Kemenkes) worth Rp. 248.4 billion.

In addition, the modular sector also made an important contribution with the acquisition of 11 modular projects worth a total of IDR 490.8 billion. Thus, the total order book to date has reached IDR 8.67 trillion. Including, carry over from previous projects worth IDR 7.46 trillion.

"For the achievement of new contracts until July 2024, we have reached Rp1.2 trillion. Divided for current government projects, it still dominates 76.44 percent, followed by 12.9 percent of private projects and also 10.6 percent of SOEs," said WeGE Purba Corporate Secretary Yudha Tama in an online Public Expose Live agenda, Friday, August 30.

When viewed from the type of work, said Purba, the residential sector still dominates 42 percent, followed by offices 37.40 percent and public facilities of 20.4 percent.

"What we have achieved IDR 1.2 trillion as of July 2024 is still dominated by 76.44 percent of government projects. This shows our fairly balanced ability, our ability to obtain projects from the government, BUMN and the private sector," he said.

"So in the future, it is hoped that Wika Gedung will be able to adapt and we will be able to shift from current government projects to be able to get also from BUMN and private projects," he added.

Meanwhile, WEGE targets to win a new contract of up to IDR 5 trillion throughout 2024.

"The target for the new contract (overall) in 2024 is IDR 5 trillion with a backlog of IDR 8.3 trillion. So, our order book is targeted at IDR 13.4 trillion," he added.
