Ministry Of Transportation's 2025 Budget Drops, Budi Karya Asks For Additional IDR 7.6 Trillion

Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi said that the 2025 Ministry of Transportation budget ceiling was worth IDR 24.7 trillion.

This lift decreased compared to 2024 which was IDR 41.59 trillion.

"The 2025 budget has decreased quite significantly. We understand that this is happening in almost all ministries/agencies but there are still many fundamental priority activities that have not been accommodated in the budget ceiling that has been issued," he said in a working meeting with Commission V DPR, in Jakarta, Thursday, August 29.

Therefore, Budi requested an additional budget for the Ministry of Transportation of IDR 7.6 trillion in 2025.

This additional budget is to support several priority activities that have not been accommodated in the budget ceiling.

Budi said, in the land transportation sector, the total budget requirement reached Rp. 990.67 billion for road and distribution service programs, urban transportation services, intermodal transportation services, and RORO LDF services.

Then, continued Budi, in the sea transportation sector, his party requires a budget of IDR 1.05 trillion for marine pioneer programs, sea toll roads, livestock vessels, and rede ships.

Meanwhile, in the air transportation sector, the Ministry of Transportation requires a budget of IDR 400 billion for passenger pioneer programs and passenger fuel subsidies (BBM) programs. In the railway sector, the Ministry of Transportation requires IDR 146.58 billion for passenger pioneering programs.

Meanwhile, the infrastructure maintenance and operation (IMO) sector is good for the operation and maintenance of state-owned railway infrastructure, the amount of the required budget reaches IDR 2.1 trillion.

"As an effort to fulfill it, we have conveyed it to the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Bappenas, approximately (the required budget) is IDR 7 trillion," he said.

Budi said the total budget of IDR 7.6 trillion was needed to meet all modes of service, namely sea, land, air, and rail, procurement of school buses, personnel spending, and various other necessities.

He admitted that he had communicated with the Director General of Budget at the Ministry of Finance Isa Rachmatarwata regarding the proposed additional budget.

I had time to communicate with the Director General of Aggaran, Mr. Isa, that the budget exists. Later it will beplaced (bet) possibly not at the Ministry of Transportation but it is certain that all of this can be paid. Maybe that's what I can say," said Budi.
