President Jokowi Inaugurates The Leuwikeris Dam For The National Strategic Project In West Java, Which Is Worked On By PTPP

JAKARTA - PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) as one of the Construction and Investment SOEs in Indonesia inaugurated the Leuwikeris Dam Project located in Tasikmalaya Regency and Ciamis Regency, West Java Province. Indonesian President Joko Widodo inaugurated it directly with a meeting session and the signing of the inscription as a symbolic form.

Also attending the inauguration ceremony were First Lady Hj. Iriana, Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono, Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin, Regent of Tasikmalaya H. Ade Sugianto, Regent of Ciamis H. Engkus Sutisna, Director of Operations for Infrastructure PTPP Yul Ari Pramuraharjo, President Director of Adhi Karya Entus Asnawi, and President Director of PT Waskita Karya Muhammad Hanugroho.

The Leuwikeris Dam project is one of the National Strategic Projects completed by PTPP in West Java Province. PTPP works on packages 1, packages 6, and packages 7 with a contract value of IDR 1.61 trillion which absorbs the number of workers from around 590 workers.

The Leuwikeris Dam, located 135 km from the city of Bandung, has irrigation benefits to supply the DI Lakbok Utara network in Ciamis covering an area of 6,600 Ha and DI Mangganti in Cilacap covering an area of 4,616 Ha. Has the benefits of raw water reserves of 845 liters/second, reducing flooding, power plants of 2 x 10 MW, as well as tourism, fisheries, and conservative groundwater benefits. This dam has a capacity of 81 million M3 and has an inundation area of 243 Hectar.

In his remarks, President Joko Widodo said that the importance of water resources to be managed and can be utilized as well as possible from the inauguration of the Leuwikeris Dam in West Java Province.

"Alhamdulillah, this afternoon the Leuwikeris Dam, which was built in 2016, was officially inaugurated. Of the 44 dams that I have officially inaugurated, this is the dam that costs the most, 3.5 trillion Rupiah", said the President, in a PTPP release received, Thursday, August 29.

In addition, in his remarks, the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo stated that of this total cost, the Leuwikeris dam has a large inundation area and capacity volume, and has benefits for irrigation, raw water, and other benefits that are very important for the people of West Java province.

At the inauguration which was attended by the Director of Operations for Infrastructure of PTPP Yul Ari Pramuraharjo, said that the Leuwikeris Dam is one of the dams included in the National Strategic Project (PSN) which has been completed by PTPP and inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia.

"Previously, we have completed national strategic dam projects and have been inaugurated by President Joko Widodo such as Lolak Dam, Tiu Suntuk Dam, and Tamblang Dam. Alhamdulillah, all the completed Dam Projects have good quality, on time, and zero accidents," said Yul Ari.

On the same occasion, PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono gave a testimonial for the Leuwikeris Dam Project which stated that the quality of PTPP products, OK.
