The Government Has Prepared A List Of Mining Lands For Muhammadiyah

JAKARTA - Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Dadan Kusdiana revealed that he had prepared a number of mining lands for the former Coal Mining Concession Work Agreement (PKP2B) to be handed over to PP Muhammadiyah for later management.

As is known, Muhammadiyah is one of the religious community organizations (ormas) that accepts offers to manage mines from the government.

"There are already some lists, but this is there at the Ministry of Investment. If this already has a PP, there is already a Presidential Decree, yes the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources does according to its duties," said Dadan when met at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, Friday, August 23.

However, Dadan was reluctant to reveal in detail the location and area of the mine that would be given to Muhammadiyah.

Previously, the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board was ready to manage a coal mine concession of 26,000 hectares (ha) in East Kalimantan (Kaltim), after this religious community organization (ormas) received a Special Mining Business License (IUPK) from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

The mine concession location belongs to the former PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC), a company that is a member of the Bakrie Group.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia said mining permits for Muhammadiyah were still in charge of the licensing process and had not yet been completed.

Nevertheless, Bahlil ensured that the permit processing process was almost complete.

"Now it is in a process that is almost finished about the location," said Bahlil, Monday, August 19.

President Jokowi previously signed a Government Regulation (PP) 25/2024 concerning Amendments to PP 96/2021 regarding the implementation of mineral and coal mining business activities (minerba).

Article 83A PP 25/2024 states that the new regulation allows religious organizations such as NU and Muhammadiyah to manage special mining permits (WIUPK).
