Labuan Bajo Investment Realization Reaches IDR 570 Billion

JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno revealed that the total investment realization in Labuan Bajo in the first quarter of 2024 almost reached IDR 570 billion.

He hopes that investment will continue to increase along with the presence of supporting access in the region.

Since 2020, continued Sandiaga, Labuan Bajo is a Super Priority Tourism Destination that has received significant investments, especially for infrastructure and tourism development.

"This makes Labuan Bajo in fourth place with the highest investment realization value of 10 Priority Tourism Destinations," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 21.

In 2023, the total investment realization value in Labuan Bajo, NTT, reached IDR 5.2 trillion, and this makes the tourism sector one of the largest contributors to the 15 investment contributor sectors in NTT.

In the near future, he continued, there will be an international flight route in NTT, namely the inaugural flight by Air Asia on September 3, 2024, with the Kuala Lumpur - Labuan Bajo route.

It is hoped that other international flight routes such as those from Australia and Singapore will soon follow.

This achievement proves that NTT is increasingly pursuing economic growth that contributes to state, regional and job creation revenues that are even wider. And to realize an advanced NTT requires collaboration from all stakeholders including the NTT diaspora in Jakarta and wherever they are," he said.

Through the activity that carries the theme 'From Culture to Capital Investment in the Future For Better NTT' combined with the NTT cultural performance, it is hoped that the various potentials, challenges, and issues that need to be overcome will be explored in an effort to create a more conducive investment environment in NTT.

This is also a platform for building networks and collaboration across stakeholders, both the government, industry players, as well as investors and become a common space, especially the NTT diaspora to share information about economic conditions, regulations, and business opportunities.
