Jokowi Forms National Nutrition Agency, Gapmmi: Supports Mamin's Processed Products More Nutritious

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially formed the National Nutrition Agency. This government institution was formed based on Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 83 of 2024 concerning the National Nutrition Agency.

In addition, Jokowi has also appointed Dadan Hindayana as Head of the National Nutrition Agency. The inauguration of the newly formed head of government institutions was held at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, today.

Responding to this, the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Food and Beverage Entrepreneurs Association (Gappmi) Adhi S. Lukman also appreciated the government's steps.

According to him, the government has realized that nutrition is very important for the people of Indonesia.

"Of course we appreciate the government (steps), yes, because with the existence of a nutrition agency, it means that the government realizes that nutrition is very important for the people of Indonesia, this is not just full," said Adhi when met after a press conference at the Food Ingredients Asia Indonesia at Artotel Gelora Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, August 19.

In addition, Adhi assessed that the formation of the National Nutrition Agency could also provide a positive signal to the food and beverage industry (Mamin) so that the products produced would be more nutritious in the future.

"(The formation of the National Nutrition Agency) can support Mamin's processed products to be more nutritious because there is already this body. If there is a body that cannot reach the target, of course it must be evaluated," he said.

He hopes that human resource development will also get better in the future.

"Hopefully the development of human resources will get better and the level of public health will get better, that's my hope," he concluded.
