Jokowi Pamer's Last State Speech On Indonesian Logistics Fees Drops To 14 Percent

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) revealed that for 10 years he has been able to build a new foundation and civilization, with development that is Indonesian, builds from the outskirts, villages and builds from the outermost regions.

To date, he continued, Indonesia has built 366,000 kilometers (KM) of village roads, 1.9 million meters of village bridges, 2,700 kilometers of new toll roads, 6,000 kilometers of national roads, 50 new ports and airports, and 43 dams, and 1.1 million hectares of new irrigation networks.

"With this development, we succeeded in reducing logistics costs from the previous 24 percent to 14 percent in 2023. We can increase competitiveness from the previous rank 44 to rank 27 in 2024," he said in a state speech at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Friday, August 16.

According to Jokowi, Jokowi, the development was also able to strengthen unity because of more equitable and just access. In addition, the resilience as a nation is also proven by the resilience in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Not only fighting the pandemic, Jokowi also said Indonesia's resilience was proven in the face of climate change, and in the face of world geopoliticals that were getting hotter.

"We are grateful, thank God, Indonesia is one of the few countries that is able to recover faster, and even continue to grow. Our economic growth is maintained above 5 percent even though many countries do not grow, even slow down," he explained.

In fact, continued Jokowi, Eastern Indonesia, such as Papua and Maluku, was actually able to grow above 6 percent and North Maluku was able to grow above 20 percent.

Not only that, he said, Inflation was also controlled in the range of 2 to 3 percent when many countries experienced extraordinary increases, some even reached more than 200 percent.

"We can reduce the extreme poverty rate from the previous 6.1 percent to 0.8 percent in 2024. We can reduce the stunting rate from 37.2 percent to 21.5 percent in 2023. We can also suppress the unemployment rate from 5.7 percent to 4.8 percent in 2024," he said.
